To Fix, or Not to Fix?

To Fix, or Not to Fix?

See that little blue stitch marker there? That’s where I missed a stitch.

I noticed my pattern wasn’t quite working up the way it was before, but it was still going. Just…a little weird. So I counted my stitches, and I was 1 short. I went back to the end of the pink…1 short. To the end of the cream I was right. A lot of counting later (127 stitches in each row), I found it.

The question now is, do I tear out all that work to go back and fix it? For 1 stitch?

Option 2 is that I just keep going and finish the garment 1 stitch short on the back panel.

Option 3 is that I add another stitch back in my current row and just proceed as if it isn’t short a stitch for about 18 rows.

The answer might be different for other patterns, but for this one I decided to go with option 3. The only reason I’m even adding the stitch back at all is that I’ll soon be starting to shape for straps on this tank top, so I don’t want to confuse myself when my stitches are uneven later.

Happy Friday to all, and here’s hoping you aren’t missing any random stitches!
